Нello All! Залиты диски Rockets_(US): (1977)LoveTransfusion (2005)Back_Talk_And_Rocket_Roll_(198182) Назад в Детройт! === Rockets (aka The Rockets from 1981 onwards) are an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan founded by guitarist Jimmy McCarty and drummer Johnny "Bee" Badanjek, both former members of the group Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. Along with slide and rhythm guitarist Dennis Robbins, bass guitarist John Fraga, and lead vocalist David Gilbert, The Rockets reached their pinnacle of success in 1979 with a Top 40 hit, a cover of the Fleetwood Mac song "Oh Well", and an appearance on the tv series The Midnight Special. (c) discogs === (c) Biography by Jason Ankeny, AMG Motor City-based guitarist Jim McCarty first surfaced as a member of Mitch Ryder's backing band the Detroit Wheels, making his bow on the group's 1966 debut LP Take a Ride. Beginning with 1968's Expressway to Your Skull, he backed Buddy Miles, concurrently recording tracks with Jimi Нendrix before joining the short-lived band Cactus; relatively quiet during the mid-'70s, McCarty appeared only on Bob Seger's Seven and Bob "Catfish" Нodge's Dynasaurs and Alleycats (both 1974) before returning to action full-time in 1977 with the group the Rockets. Following that band's early-1980s dissolution, McCarty joined the Detroit Blues Band, later fronting his own group, Mystery Train. === Cactus In June 2006, the band re-formed around a lineup consisting of original members Appice, Bogert, McCarty, and new vocalist and former Savoy Brown frontman Jimmy Kunes -- Rusty Day passed away in 1982. They issued their long-awaited fifth studio LP, the aptly named Cactus V, later that fall. Various lineup shifts preceded the release of 2016's Black Dawn, which featured McCarty, Appice, Kunes, and newcomers Pete Bremy and Randy Pratt. Founding member Tim Bogert died on January 13, 2021 after a long fight with cancer; he was 76 years old. Later that year Cactus released a new studio album, Tightrope. === Enjoy! WBR, Michael Baryshnikov. ЗЫ. Новый диск Кактуса уже скачал, но ещё не слушал. Выложу завтра, потерпите :) Кстати, весьма рекомендую посмотреть концерт Кактуса 2006 года - старички зажигают во всю. --- wfido |
