Группа была создана в 1969-м году на основе бирмингамской же группы Paint.
Как говорят сами участники, диск был записан по чистой случайности, в течение 3-х недель. В записи альбома помогали их друзья - Петер Фрамптон, Брайан Эпплярд, Энда Браун и другие (не упомянутые на пластинке), однако, альбом, из-за каких-то соображений начальства Полидора, был положен на полку и пролежал там вплоть до 2007 года, когда и был ремастирован и выпущен, на волне интереса к ранней психоделии в 2008-м году.
Группа также известна тем, что их вокалист - Микки Фокс стал таковым у группы Band Of Joy после того, как оттуда ушёл Роберт Плант, а гитарист и композитор - Кейт Лоу стал участником Velvett Fogg и основателем Law And Understanding.

Jardine's album was recorded in three glorious weeks in June 1969, at Sounds Aquarian Studios, a stone's throw from that justifiably famous fashion hub, Carnaby Street. The sessions were fun. Polydor was supposed to release the album. Musicians dropped in to say "hello" and ended up on the record (uncredited) among them Peter Frampton, Andrew "Andy" Bown (Нerd and Status Quo), and Brian Appleyard (drummer from East of Eden). Singer Mickey Cox had been in Robert Plant's pre-Led Zeppelin group The Band of Joy it was Cox, in fact, who became their singer when Plant left the band. But suddenly, thanks to band management problems, the LP was shelved. Keith Law, who had written all of the songs, joined Velvett Fogg for their only album, and Jardine was forgotten. Now, forty years later, you can be among the first to discover the brooding excellence of these tracks, music both strange and sinister, with moments of fragile beauty. There are some very pretty songs here (haunting melodies abound), but there is no escaping the dark side of life songs ("Masochists of Strangulation", "Execution of the Child" and monumental dirge "Blackbirds of Jardine", which tells of self-same birds, and the fact that they will 'destroy you, and leave you pain, pain, pain'), perhaps more akin to the band Comus than to anything else we have encountered from the psychedelic era. There are also heavy guitar solos, churning organ, flute, and flowing sitar for good measure. A 16-page booklet includes a band history, lyrics and comments on the songs by Keith Law. A lost jewel of late-1960's UK Psychedelia, from a short-lived but charismatic band!

Originally released in 1969, as this looks to be the band's only recorded work. Main reason I decided to give it a listen is that I saw that it was issued on the Lion Productions label. When you have time, be sure to check out their site - as they've put out many rare / unheard of / obscure band's records that otherwise may have never been available. Tunes here that more than did it for me were "Нello, Goodbye, Victoria Crane" (incredible sitar), "Нarpsichord", the stellar "Somewhere Within Ophelius" (honestly, why wasn't the psychedelic band better known?), the total psyched-out "Masochists Of Strangulation" and "Lady On The Нillside" (great organ). 'Look In The Window' notably had guest spots by the likes of Peter Frampton, Brian Appleyard (East Of Eden) and Andy Brown. Only personnel listing I could find for this CD were Mickey Cox - vocalist and Keith Law - composer. Should maybe appeal to fans of Kaleidoscope, Tea & Symphony and Magic Carpet.
