This week we are introducing a new feature for the charts, called the
WCF Smash titles. These will be new titles on the charts, picked by our own
editors, once every week. There will be a Smash Movie, Smash Album, Smash
PC Game, etc. (Basically, we could also be talking about Movie of the Week,
Album of the Week and PC Game of the Week, etc. But the Smash word just
sounds better.)

For long we have been compiling charts and publishing data, according to the
votes being sent in and being parsed and processed by our computer. The
compilation process is a fair one, and our own opinion has no weight in the
end results. But after doing all those calculations every week, we feel we'd
like to give the charts just a small personal touch. So we've allowed
ourselves to pick a Title of the Week for each of the charts. These Smash
titles are new products expected to perform very well in the charts, judged
by our own personal experience. If you don't agree with our choice, please
feel free to tell us about it.

These titles of the week will usually be chosen from the titles among the
Runners Up list. But if another title is such a hot new hit that it skips the
Runners Up list completely to debut at the Top 100 chart right away, we might
decide to give that hot product the Smash predicate.

Oh, and by the way... We are finally doing conversions to the new engine that
we have been talking about several times already. The Singles Top 100 is the
first list to be compiled with the new software this week. The other charts
are likely to follow next week.
