Франсис Ликериш - основатель британской прогрессив-рок группы Энид. После прекращения деятельности группы, он поступил в университет, выучился на клинического психолога и проработал много лет в разных больницах и социальных учереждениях.
Однако, прошлое даёт о себе знать, и вот в 2012-м году он выпускает свой первый сольный диск (этот).
Когда слушаешь это альбом, то понимаешь, как могла бы развиваться Энид, если бы не прекратила играть.
Это даже не симфо-прог, это, строго говоря - классическая симфоническая музыка, которую играет полный оркестр, а поёт оперная певица.
5 огромных, многочастных композиций самая короткая из которых - 7 минут, а самая длинная 30.
Сказать, что это - здорово, значит ничего не сказать... это - просто великолепно!

FRANCIS LICKERISН is what anybody will call a renaissance man, after his successful experience as composer, guitar and lute player in the cult band TНE ENID, changes the stage for the university graduating as therapist pursuing a successful career as counselor, group therapist, workshop leader and trainer, working with a very broad client base that includes street drinkers, criminals, film stars and royalty.

But the music always remains in him using it as part of his therapy, and in 2009 surprises the Prog commute when as a member of SECRET GREEN releases the amazing "To Wake the King", clearly oriented towards Prog Folk.

When everybody expected more albums from this band FRANCIS LICKERISН releases his first solo album called "Far And Forgot - From The Lost Lands" which was supposed to be a sequel of To Wake The King, but instead he combines a lifetime experience clearly oriented towards Symphonic Prog and Neo Classical with an evident influence from TНE ENID.

After a few discussions, the Symphonic Team decided to include Francis in our database, because the extreme beauty and elaborate arrangements of the five tracks (specially the 26 minutes multi-part epic "The Disenchanting") and the evident reminiscence of TНE ENID, makes of "Far and Forgot - From the Lost Lands" a great addition for any fan of the genre.

Kind of how I would expect "The Enid" sound to evolve to. Or maybe a bit of a "Big Big Train", with the classical instruments thrown into the mix. Grand symphonies, so many instrumental parts, or operatic vocals. Layer upon layer is put forth as the wonderful modern age allows musicians to record and release more easily. Fantasy, mystical, legendary themes are abound, as we are used to in Prog Rock.

I suppose the audience here will always be small, it's not exactly an AOR "band", or rather a project. The concepts presented here needs a space to grow on and this is what it certainly gets, with 5 songs / 68 minutes.
